A vertical format photograph presents an architectural lighting installation within a curved classical arcade building, scanning from the dominant structure at left toward an open street vista at right with sky visible in the upper portion. The building facade rises powerfully through the left and center of the frame, constructed of smooth pale stone in cream and dove gray tones suggesting coolness like limestone on an overcast day, with the surface appearing solid and substantial. Ornate window arrangements feature dark green tinted glass in the upper stories, with curved wrought iron balconies projecting outward at the second level, their intricate metalwork suggesting the texture of aged lacework. The ground level opens dramatically through tall display windows framed by fluted pilasters, and within these openings cascades an extraordinary lighting installation consisting of vertical streams of small crystalline elements suspended on fine wires, creating the impression of frozen waterfalls or curtains of captured starlight descending from above. Warm amber light radiates outward from the interior, the temperature suggesting candlelight or the golden glow of afternoon sun streaming through honey-colored glass, this warmth contrasting with the cooler neutral stone exterior. In the foreground at pavement level, several pedestrian figures traverse from left to right, their forms softly blurred suggesting movement through the space, wearing dark winter coats with one figure in a bright vermillion red jacket that provides a chromatic accent like a cardinal against snow. The pavement appears as pale stone flags extending toward the viewer. To the right, the curved street recedes into atmospheric distance where additional classical buildings continue the architectural rhythm, and a double-decker vehicle in saturated red passes through the middle distance. Above, the sky presents soft cerulean blue with gentle cloud formations, the light suggesting late afternoon in cool weather with the sun positioned outside the frame to the right.

The Grade II listed arcade has been transformed into an inviting street presence through arranging the right light at the right place. General, ambient illumination is used holistically and its effects staged hierarchically to achieve variations in light patterning that create interest and promote increased use of the space. Strategic incorporation for design and placement of the dynamic feature pendent was managed together with the artist so that visual effects appear more subtle than overwhelming. With daylight fading, the elegant structure is accentuated by the rhythm of electric lighting.
