Source One Vodka Spirits and Alcohol

Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2020

Beginning with overall orientation, the composition presents a single transparent glass spirits bottle photographed against a soft, cool gray background, the bottle occupying the central and right-center portion of the frame in vertical portrait orientation, its crystalline form catching and reflecting light across multiple faceted surfaces that create a complex geometric presence, the overall impression suggesting refined luxury and technical sophistication through material clarity and angular precision. The bottle itself rises from bottom frame toward upper portion, its body constructed from perfectly clear glass molded into angular facets that meet in sharp crystalline edges, each plane catching light differently, some surfaces appearing nearly invisible in their transparency while others reflect surrounding illumination as bright highlights or subtle luminous passages, the glass quality suggesting the coolness and smoothness of polished crystal, the weight and solidity of substantial glass thickness, the surfaces would feel cool to touch, absolutely smooth without texture, rigid and unyielding. The bottle's shoulder area, occupying the upper third of the composition, features particularly dramatic faceting with angular planes converging upward toward a cap that appears as a smooth dome catching bright highlights, this uppermost section gleaming like a small polished mirror, the faceted shoulder surfaces creating a crown-like geometric complexity. Moving to the central portion of the bottle, roughly occupying the middle register of the composition, a cream-colored or warm off-white label adheres to one facet of the bottle's body, this label providing the composition's primary text and graphic information, the label substrate appearing matte with subtle paper texture that would feel slightly soft and smooth like quality card stock if touched, warmer and less slick than the surrounding glass, the label's rectangular form establishing strong vertical emphasis. The label text reads from top downward: first a small line in dark blue stating "SINGLE ESTATE," followed by larger bold letters spelling "SOURCE ONE" in the same rich marine or navy blue color, this blue suggesting the depth of twilight sky or deep ocean water, a serious, authoritative color, below this text sits a small embossed emblem rendered in warm copper or rose-gold metallic finish, this emblem depicting a symmetrical apparatus with vertical elements flanking a central chamber, the metallic element catching light as a burnished glow that would feel smooth and slightly warm in temperature association, suggesting polished copper or bronze, beneath the emblem the word "VODKA" appears in the same deep blue as the brand name, followed by smaller text reading "DISTILLED FROM OAT" and at the bottom specifications showing "Volume: 750mL" and "Alc/Vol: 40%" in both the blue type and a subtle brown or neutral tone, the typography throughout suggesting classic, established, trustworthy character, serious yet refined, no playful or casual qualities present. The bottle's lower portion, visible in the foreground, continues the faceted geometric treatment, transparent planes creating depth through overlapping surfaces and refractive distortion where the glass thickness bends light passing through it, some areas showing doubled edges or prismatic effects, the very bottom suggesting substantial glass weight and stable presence. The background environment occupies the left side and surrounds the bottle with a soft, cool, neutral gray-blue tonality suggesting diffused indirect lighting, like an overcast sky or soft studio illumination, no harsh shadows present, just gentle gradual toning that creates subtle depth, this background would feel cool and slightly distant, providing quiet, undemanding space around the bottle, the lighting overall suggests the even, gentle illumination of a softly lit room without direct sunshine, cool but not cold, clear but not harsh, creating an atmosphere of calm, contemplative attention focused entirely on the bottle's geometric form and transparent material presence.

Source One Vodka is the reward of a journey obsessed with quality and sustainability. From the oat grains that are grown on the ranch to the snowmelt water of Sierra Nevada. It is this story that the studio narrated through thoughtful design of every element; from the pristine bottle structure to the typography inspired by the original type on the distillery building, to the illustration that invites you to discover the truth of Source One. The brand identity and packaging all serve to celebrate and honor the combination of radical transparency and considered craftsmanship.
