This audio description presents a contemporary two-story residence photographed at twilight, captured from a three-quarter view across a green lawn. The overall impression is of a glowing architectural presence against a darkening blue sky, combining crisp white geometric forms with a luminous violet-lit upper facade. Beginning with the sky that occupies the upper third of the image, colors transition from deep azure blue at top through cerulean toward a lighter turquoise glow near the horizon, suggesting the moment just after sunset. The building commands the middle portion, stretching horizontally across most of the frame width. At left stands a cubic white tower element, smooth and solid like fresh plaster, rising approximately two and a half stories with minimal window openings and creating a protective anchor. A covered carport beneath this tower shelters a dark vehicle. Extending rightward from this anchor, the main dwelling volume features an upper level wrapped in translucent panels that glow with soft violet-lavender light, reminiscent of backlit frosted glass or illuminated wax, this color warm yet otherworldly against the cool twilight sky. Rectangular windows punctuate this glowing screen, revealing interior spaces. The ground level opens generously through floor-to-ceiling glass panels, revealing warm interior spaces with honey-toned wood walls, cream-colored soft furnishings, and glimpses of a mint-green stairwell area. Interior lighting casts welcoming golden warmth. Two ancient olive trees stand between viewer and building, their trunks thick and gnarled like weathered driftwood, bark silvery-gray, their canopies soft sage-green masses providing organic contrast to architectural precision. The foreground presents manicured lawn, soft emerald green like fresh spring grass, transitioning through textural plantings of silvery ornamental grasses near the building. At right edge, turquoise pool water catches remaining light. The atmosphere feels peaceful, transitional, suspended between day and evening activities.
The project was inspired by the idea of Mediterranean scenery admiration towards olive grove, vineyards, blue sky and breezy south to west orientation. To maximise unobstructed views for all rooms a linear typology was adopted,a simple silhouette thus establishing strong relationships between people and nature. A sliding sun blocking aluminium screen controls and protects the interior from direct sunlight. Double height living space with glazed bridges is the focal area of the house connecting all rooms and providing views in and out. The long design surrenders to nature and follows the land.
