Golden A' Design Award Winner 2020
Scanning from the distant background toward the foreground through an elongated bar interior space illuminated predominantly in warm amber and golden tones suggesting candlelight warmth, the composition reveals a sophisticated hospitality environment, at the far terminus some thirty meters distant sits a service station rendered in soft focus, moving forward through the middle ground the dominant feature commands attention on the right side, an expansive floor-to-ceiling shelving system spanning approximately two-thirds the composition width, this architectural element comprises a dark metal grid framework with backlit compartments housing numerous bottles of varying shapes and sizes, the illumination behind them creating a warm glow like afternoon sunlight through stained glass, colors within these vessels range from deep forest greens cool as pine shadows through warm honey ambers to rich burgundies suggesting aged wine, suspended from the dark ceiling plane several sculptural wire installations resembling abstract nest forms hang at staggered heights, their linear metal elements catching ambient light, the left wall presents vertical textured striations in warm earth tones like dried grasses or woven reed, punctuated by industrial pendant lamps directing pools of focused light downward, along the extensive bar counter which features a rich reddish-brown wooden top surface smooth as polished mahogany arranged in orderly procession sit bar stools upholstered in cognac-colored leather warm and supple-appearing with brass-finished legs, the floor beneath presents a polished dark surface reflective as still water at night, mirroring the ceiling elements and creating a sense of doubled space, the atmospheric quality suggests evening hours, intimate yet spacious, the temperature of light creating welcoming warmth throughout the elongated volume.
The parallel "horizontal line" and "vertical line", no matter how they change, can not be intersecting. Only when they cross each other can they be intersecting, and the intersection forms a "lattice". And the lattice is a communication platform, which is the source of the whiskey bar's design concept. In terms of energy-saving and environmental protection, designers used LED energy-saving lamps throughout the entire bar. From the layout, in order to maintain the air quality inside the bar, they build windows from north to south, this can make sure the natural air come through.
