Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
Scanning from the entrance toward the back of this contemporary retail space, you encounter a striking tunnel-like structure constructed from curved metallic panels that arc overhead like the ribs of a futuristic vessel. The dominant material is brushed aluminum with a cool silver-gray color resembling polished steel or moonlight on water, creating a sleek industrial atmosphere that feels simultaneously welcoming and forward-looking. The ceiling consists of approximately eight visible arched ribs that progress from larger in the foreground to smaller in the distance, creating a strong sense of depth like looking through a telescope or entering a protective cocoon. The metal surfaces are smooth to imagine touching, cool and precisely fabricated with subtle brushed texture that would feel like fine sandpaper if you traced your fingers along the grain. At the center top of the composition, a glowing white sculptural logo emits soft illumination, suspended like a lantern marking the entrance to something special. Moving downward and toward the center, an elliptical service counter occupies the middle ground, its surface a warm cream color suggesting smooth solid-surface material like touched marble at room temperature. The counter is approximately waist-height and curves organically, following the tunnel's flowing geometry. Arranged around this counter are transparent stools made of clear acrylic or similar material, appearing almost ghost-like with only subtle reflections betraying their solid presence, approximately eight stools visible in casual arrangement. A person stands at the counter's left side, their back toward us, wearing a white garment that reaches below the waist and dark pants, their dark hair visible as they apparently wait for or receive service. On the counter surface, various coffee-making equipment creates silhouettes including kettles, brewing devices, and service items arranged in working order. Beyond the intimate pod, the surrounding retail environment remains visible through semi-transparent perforated mesh panels, with warm ambient lighting and other shop displays creating a soft backdrop that contextualizes this space within a larger commercial setting.
