DUSITANON Residence

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025

Scanning this architectural photograph from street level upward, the image presents a contemporary multi-story residence distinguished by flowing terracotta-colored vertical fins that wrap the building like a protective veil, the overall impression suggests warmth and organic movement, like sun-baked earth shaped by gentle winds, Beginning at the bottom edge, a dark gray asphalt road stretches horizontally across the full image width, its smooth surface cool and slightly reflective, moving upward the street edge includes a sidewalk where a transit shelter with pale sage green plastic seating provides pedestrian amenities, utility poles rise along the right side trailing cables that loop organically through the composition, the central subject dominates from lower third to near the top of the frame, its facade composed of hundreds of closely-spaced vertical elements in a warm dusty rose hue reminiscent of terracotta pottery or oxidized copper, these fins curve and undulate following a flowing roofline that dips and rises like gentle hills or draped fabric, the material appears smooth and uniform suggesting manufactured metal or composite panels, through gaps between the vertical elements warm amber light glows from within suggesting comfortable inhabited spaces, glass balustrades catch this interior illumination creating horizontal bands of brightness that contrast with the screen surface, to the left of the main structure a mature deciduous tree fills much of that portion, its canopy full with fresh spring green leaves providing cool biological presence beside the warm architectural tones, behind and beside the residence rise conventional concrete buildings in neutral warm gray tones, their rectangular windows and flat rooflines appearing static compared to the dynamic curves of the subject building, the sky occupies the upper third of the image presenting a gradient from pale warm tones near the horizon suggesting recent sunset to cooler lavender-gray overhead, the overall atmosphere feels peaceful and contemplative, capturing that transitional moment when daylight yields to domestic illumination

Baan Dusitanon is a four-story residence with a mezzanine level, enveloped by a distinctive facade, located in the heart of the city. Given its urban setting, the surrounding environment is bustling with both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The primary design objective was to create a sense of privacy for the residents while maintaining a seamless connection to the city. The vertical louvre is angled in the same direction, blocking bad views and enhance prefered view for the residence.
