Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2025

This interior space presents a dramatic library or bookstore environment dominated by enormous circular portal structures resembling industrial gears or cosmic rings. Scanning from background to foreground, the composition begins with distant bookshelves visible through multiple circular openings that create a tunnel-like recession into seemingly infinite space. The primary portal, occupying the center and commanding approximately two-thirds of the composition height, consists of concentric dark metal rings illuminated by embedded lighting that traces each curve with cool white luminescence, suggesting the smooth precision of polished steel machinery. Through this central aperture, the middle ground reveals warm-toned wooden elements including curved balconies, an elegant spiraling staircase with thin vertical metal railings ascending toward upper levels, and extensive book displays arranged in curved shelving that follows the architectural geometry. The wood surfaces glow with the warm amber quality of sunlit honey or aged maple, contrasting dramatically against the cool gunmetal darkness of the mechanical structures. On the left and right, secondary circular portals of smaller scale echo the central motif, their inner surfaces lined with books creating colorful rhythms of spines in muted earth tones, soft blues, greens, and warm reds. The floor throughout presents an absolutely smooth, mirror-black surface like polished obsidian or still water at night, capturing perfect reflections of every element above and doubling the apparent height of the space into vertical infinity. Small seating areas visible through the portals feature curved benches in light cream tones, soft and inviting as worn leather. The overall atmosphere suggests being inside some magnificent literary machine, where the soft rustle of pages might echo against cool metal surfaces while warm wood embraces readers in intimate alcoves.

The interior design covers functional areas within the bookstore, drawing largely on the scientific research and industrial elements. Through artistic refinement and integration, these elements are woven into the overall interior design. This balance of functionality across areas results in a bookstore space that exudes an industrial style and appealing atmosphere.
