Golden A' Design Award Winner 2025
A photograph of a contemporary residential tower development presents itself to the listener as an architectural ensemble of approximately eight high-rise buildings arranged in a staggered composition against a pale overcast sky, scanning from the bottom of the image upward, the foreground contains a still reflecting pool or water feature with dark blue-gray water creating a mirror-like horizontal band approximately one-tenth the image height, immediately beyond this water element sits a geometric entry pavilion rendered in warm gray concrete or stone with a distinctive rectangular portal cut through its mass creating a ceremonial threshold, this gateway structure occupies the compositional center at approximately one-quarter image height, the portal reveals glimpses of interior space with warm lighting visible within, on either side of this central pavilion mature deciduous trees with full green summer foliage provide organic contrast to the geometric architecture, their canopies soft and rounded against the rigid vertical and horizontal lines of the buildings, rising behind and around these foreground elements the residential towers ascend dramatically, the two tallest towers flanking left and right margins appear to reach perhaps thirty to thirty-five stories each, their facades composed of alternating horizontal bands of blue-tinted reflective glass reading cool like winter sky and warm terracotta or salmon-colored cladding panels suggesting sunset warmth or terra cotta pottery, projecting balconies create rhythmic horizontal shadows that break the vertical masses into more intimate scales, between these dominant flanking towers additional buildings of varying heights create a layered middle ground, some towers presenting more glass-dominant facades reading cooler in temperature while others emphasize the warmer cladding materials, the overall color temperature alternates between the cool steel blue of glass and sky reflection and the warm peach and salmon of solid cladding elements, textures appear smooth and manufactured with the precision of contemporary construction, geometric hedgerows in the mid-ground create patterns of dark green foliage trimmed into rectangular forms, the atmosphere conveys calm, prosperity, and thoughtful design.
The project is located in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China, with a total plot area of 80400 square meters and a total construction area394000 square meters. The design gives full play to the advantages of leaning against Dajing Mountain Park, and builds a modern residential area with a pleasant ecology and rich cultural atmosphere. Maximize the use of mountain resources, so that all housing types can enjoy mountain scenery resources. Building types include residential housing, kindergarten, commercial street and supporting facilities.
