Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
This architectural rendering presents a contemporary commercial building viewed from across a roadway, oriented in landscape format with the structure spanning the full width of the composition. Beginning at the left edge, two tall columnar evergreen trees rise dramatically, their dark green foliage dense and conical, positioned before a section of the building featuring horizontal timber battens in warm honey-brown tones arranged vertically with regular spacing. These battens appear smooth and precisely milled, creating rhythmic shadow patterns. Moving rightward, a substantial horizontal concrete beam in pale gray with subtle aggregate texture extends across the facade, supporting the timber screen above while defining the upper edge of an expansive glass curtain wall below. The glazed surface, cool and reflective like still water, stretches across most of the building's width, its surface capturing ghostly reflections of trees and sky in soft blue-grays and muted greens. Through this transparent membrane, interior spaces reveal themselves in layers: a prominent white arched portal suggests a doorway scaled for ceremony, while curved white forms and planted greenery create depth within. The right portion of the composition features a bold sculptural element clad in warm cream-colored stone, its surface suggesting the granular texture of travertine, smooth yet with subtle pitting. This mass curves gracefully, creating a quarter-circle profile that rises two stories with monumental presence. Below the glazing, the ground level reveals a recessed entrance area with additional glass and subtle interior illumination suggesting warm ambient light within. The foreground presents large rectangular stone pavers in cool gray, their surfaces smooth and slightly reflective. A roadway occupies the bottom edge where a yellow vehicle passes in motion blur, conveying urban vitality. The sky above presents soft overcast conditions in pale blue-gray, diffusing light evenly across all surfaces.
Located in Istanbul’s old quarter, the Rams City Sales Office features a design that draws inspiration from the area’s architectural traditions. The use of arches and a domed roof reflects familiar influences, while a single tree at the entrance introduces a natural element. The concrete and steel facade follows a straightforward and durable approach, creating a practical space that acknowledges the past while accommodating present needs. Inside, the layout is designed to offer a welcoming and functional environment for visitors.
