Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
This description presents a spacious interior lounge area within a beach club establishment. Scanning from above to below, the ceiling commands immediate attention through its dramatic installation of gathered fabric panels in a warm terra-cotta hue reminiscent of sun-baked clay or desert sand at golden hour. These textile elements billow downward in rhythmic waves, creating soft sculptural forms that feel like captured wind or frozen motion, their gathered edges producing shadows that deepen the warm tone to burnt orange in the recesses while the peaks catch light in paler peach tones. Moving to the middle zone, several woven pendant light fixtures hang at varying heights, their open basket-weave construction in natural straw or rattan creating an airy, handcrafted presence. Below these, the space opens to a generous seating arrangement occupying the left portion of the composition. A large L-shaped sectional sofa upholstered in pale cream leather—smooth and cool to the touch like butter-soft calfskin—stretches horizontally, dressed with plump cushions in matching tones. Before the seating, low wooden tables with tripod legs and organic rounded tops suggest hand-turned or naturally formed timber, their surface appearing warm and tactile like weathered driftwood. To the right, tall glass panels tinted a soft seafoam green divide the interior from bright exterior spaces, their translucent surface filtering daylight into cool aqueous luminosity. Through and beyond these partitions, outdoor seating areas become visible beneath stretched canvas shade sails, with wooden furniture and natural light suggesting seaside atmosphere. The floor throughout presents as polished concrete in dove gray, its smooth surface reflecting soft ambient light. White structural columns rise cleanly through the space, their crisp geometric forms providing visual rhythm. Along the far wall, a collection of black-and-white photographs in matching frames creates a gallery arrangement, their imagery suggesting documentary or artistic subjects. The overall atmosphere conveys warmth tempered by freshness, suggesting comfortable shelter from bright coastal sun while maintaining connection to natural light and outdoor environment.
Its neutral palette provides visual cleanliness, connecting with the sea view. Functional spaces have been designed with aesthetic unity, combining the restaurant, bar, seaside relaxation area, dance floor, and a rest area that also serves as an art gallery. The floor joints are filled with marine sand to blend with the surroundings. The lighting adapts to natural sunlight and creates conceptual effects, as seen in the access tunnel to the wet rooms.
