Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
An architectural visualization presents a large-scale development complex viewed from an elevated position, looking across landscaped grounds toward a cluster of four gleaming towers against a pale blue sky scattered with soft white clouds. Scanning from foreground to background, the nearest zone features a curving roadway lined with tall palm trees, their fronds suggesting warm tropical conditions, with several small vehicles and human figures providing scale reference. Moving into the middle ground, a dramatic water feature commands attention, featuring a striking pyramidal structure in pristine white rising from turquoise pools that catch and reflect the afternoon light like cool silk. This geometric pavilion, perhaps four stories in height, creates a focal gathering point within the surrounding landscape. The pools extend around it in organic curves, their surface smooth as polished glass. Beyond the water feature, the podium structures rise in horizontal layers, their surfaces alternating between white structural frames and darker glazed openings, with abundant green vegetation spilling from planted terraces that suggest the softness of cascading gardens. The four towers rise from this verdant base, their surfaces clad in reflective blue-tinted glass that mirrors the sky with the cool luminosity of still water at dawn. The two central towers, perhaps thirty stories in height, are connected by a remarkable curving bridge structure featuring organic flowing lines, its white surface wrapping around planted terraces like a ribbon embracing the sky. The flanking towers on left and right stand slightly apart, their facades incorporating regular horizontal bands of green vegetation that create rhythmic texture against the smooth glass surfaces. Warm golden light illuminates the western faces of the structures, suggesting late afternoon, while gentle shadows provide dimensional modeling.
The Pavilion project is poised to set new standards for architecture in Erbil. The design team created functional and calming spaces using eco-friendly materials and sustainable practices. The project includes a beautiful lagoon and social spaces, fostering community interaction and engagement, alongside needed residential areas. The design reflects local culture and international standards. Large, open spaces let in natural light and fresh air, while strategically placed greenery enhances well-being. Energy-efficient systems and renewable sources minimize the environmental impact.
