Journeylink Multi Vehicle Car Infotainment

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2025

Scanning this horizontal rectangular image from background to foreground, listeners encounter a vehicle interior viewed from the driver's perspective. Through the windshield in the distant background, a blurred pastoral landscape unfolds in soft sage greens and muted tans, suggesting an open road with gentle vegetation on either side, bathed in warm afternoon light that feels like late day sunshine on skin. The middle ground is dominated by a large horizontal touchscreen display mounted in the dashboard, approximately three-quarters of the image width, emitting a cool luminous glow against the matte charcoal surfaces surrounding it. The screen is divided into two main sections. On the left third, a vertical arrangement features a rectangular photograph showing a road disappearing into a dense forest, the trees rendered in deep greens like fresh pine needles, with text reading "North Forest" and a date below. Beneath this image, circular portraits of four individuals are stacked vertically, each about the size of a small coin relative to the screen, showing different faces representing connected travelers. Below these avatars, text indicates journey statistics in warm coral tones that feel like sunset warmth. The right two-thirds of the screen displays a map visualization on a deep blue-black background, cool like twilight water, with a glowing pink-purple line tracing a curved route across the terrain, resembling a ribbon of light. Small circular photographs and numbered markers punctuate this route, while the bottom displays travel statistics in warm amber and coral text reading distance, time, and locations visited. The foreground shows the lower curve of a steering wheel in dark material entering from the bottom left, and a human hand gripping it, providing intimate scale reference. The overall sensation suggests technological sophistication balanced with warmth and human connection.

Journeylink is an in-car infotainment system supporting multivehicle coordination for group road trips. Through iterative layout testing, a card-based UI was optimized for driver accessibility. Features include real time location sharing, collaborative navigation and voice messaging. A prioritized notification system minimizes distractions by displaying alerts based on urgency. Additional tools such as view capture and trip memory support interactive yet safe travel experiences. The design emphasizes information hierarchy, accessibility, and seamless operation in fast-paced driving contexts.
