Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
This description presents a contemporary residential interior photographed from a position within a generous double-height living space, scanning from left to right across approximately fifteen meters of horizontal extent and rising perhaps seven meters to the ceiling above. Beginning at the left edge, a modern fireplace insert glows with warm amber flames, set within a surround of cool white marble marked with delicate gray veining resembling flowing water, the stone surface smooth as polished glass to the touch. Moving rightward, a cylindrical column finished in matte white rises from floor to ceiling like a classical temple support, its surface suggesting cool plaster beneath the fingertips. The foreground presents an expansive L-shaped sectional sofa upholstered in creamy ivory fabric with the soft yielding texture of fine cotton, accompanied by plump cushions that invite sinking comfort. Before the sefa rests a low rectangular coffee table with a white marble top, cool and smooth, bearing decorative objects including candles and sculptural forms. A burgundy leather ottoman at right provides rich wine-red color, its surface suggesting supple aged leather warm to the touch. The middle ground reveals built-in shelving of warm walnut wood extending floor to ceiling, its amber-brown tone reminiscent of honey or autumn leaves, each niche illuminated by concealed lighting that creates intimate pools of golden warmth displaying books, vases, and collected objects. Above this millwork hangs a large contemporary painting alive with flowers in sunny yellows, cheerful pinks, cool greens, and sky blues, suggesting a meadow in joyful bloom. The upper level visible through glass balustrades shows additional living space, while towering windows at right admit generous daylight with the fresh quality of morning illumination. The flooring transitions between cool white marble and warm herringbone-patterned wood resembling woven golden strands, creating zones of different tactile experience underfoot.
