Scanning from top downward, the ceiling plane dominates the upper register, composed of natural wood planking or veneer in warm honey tones reminiscent of maple or light oak, the surface displaying pronounced linear grain running diagonally from upper left toward lower right, these parallel lines creating visual rhythm and directional movement, the wood appearing smooth with satin finish that catches diffused light without harsh glare, suggesting the tactile quality of fine furniture-grade timber warm to touch. This project is located in Panlong Tiandi, in the northeastern part of Xujing Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai. The space combines the profound cultural heritage of Panlong Ancient Town with the characteristics of Mtpt products, using materials, shapes, sounds, and light and shadow to blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, artificial and natural, with the theme of Touching Nature, allowing the beauty of nature to enter within the space and achieving a symbiotic fusion between architecture and landscape.
