Bronze A' Design Award Winner 2025
This description presents a large-scale fashion event installation viewed from floor level looking forward along a vibrant crimson runway that extends from the immediate foreground deep into the background toward a distant stage area, occupying a vast interior exhibition hall with exposed industrial ceiling infrastructure visible approximately thirty feet overhead where black painted truss systems, lighting rigs, and technical equipment create geometric lattice patterns across the upper register, bathed in atmospheric violet-blue wash that reads cool like twilight or moonlight contrasting dramatically with warm saturated colors dominating below. The runway itself, surfaced in what appears to be plush carpet with slight sheen catching overhead light, runs perhaps sixty to eighty feet forward along the central axis, approximately twelve to fifteen feet wide, bordered by glossy black flooring visible at edges that creates crisp hard boundary, with dimensional black letterforms spelling the event title laid flat across the carpet surface in the immediate foreground occupying roughly one-fifth of the visible runway width, reading solid and heavy as though constructed from thick material rather than printed or painted, these letters appearing roughly two to three feet in height providing immediate human-scale reference. Moving along the runway toward middle distance, the crimson surface appears smooth as silk or velvet with subtle tonal variation suggesting either material texture or lighting gradation, the color reading intensely warm like ripe cherries, red roses, or stage curtains, emotionally charged and commanding attention. On the left side of the composition approximately two-thirds back, a large LED screen or projection surface approximately twenty feet tall and fifteen feet wide displays "URBAN" in bold white capital letters above an illuminated installation resembling either architectural facade with vertical columns or textile pattern with repetitive vertical pleating, rendered in bright white with scattered touches of acid green creating visual spark, the screen glowing with cool light. The right side features a mirror arrangement creating bilateral symmetry, another large screen displaying similar "URBAN" branding and pattern creating balanced bracket framing the central stage zone. The distant stage, located perhaps seventy to ninety feet from viewer position, presents three human figures appearing as models wearing garments, the leftmost in patterned textile with geometric or checkered motifs, the center figure in bright golden yellow outfit creating vivid chromatic punctuation, the rightmost in solid darker textile possibly deep blue or burgundy with pattern accents, these figures providing crucial scale reference suggesting the space measures perhaps thirty to forty feet in height at stage area. Suspended directly above the stage descends a dramatic sculptural element consisting of three horizontal translucent panels stacked vertically with slight separation between layers, the topmost rectangular bar glowing intense red-orange like heated metal or neon tube creating brilliant linear highlight, below which hang three progressively larger rectangular panels in graduating hot pink, scarlet, and crimson appearing as backlit fabric or acrylic sheets each approximately twelve feet wide, creating layered cascading form descending perhaps fifteen feet from ceiling mounting point, across the top bar white dimensional letterforms spelling "CENTRESTAGE" with "ASIA'S FASHION SPOTLIGHT" below establish clear event identification, this hanging installation serving as powerful vertical anchor and chromatic focal point where saturated warm colors concentrate most intensely. Additional theatrical lighting creates dramatic accents including pin-spot sources generating starburst lens flares visible in upper corners suggesting powerful focused beams positioned stage left and right, these warm amber lights creating radiating star patterns, while the violet-blue wash flooding the ceiling area feels cool as winter shadow or deep water, creating strong temperature contrast with warm crimson, magenta, and amber tones below, this thermal opposition amplifying spatial drama and establishing distinct atmospheric zones within unified environment. The exposed ceiling infrastructure with its geometric truss patterns, horizontal beams, vertical supports, and attached lighting instruments remains visible rather than concealed, creating honest functional aesthetic that balances industrial rawness with polished theatrical presentation, suggesting a space perhaps one hundred feet wide accommodating substantial audience areas flanking the central runway. The overall environmental atmosphere suggests anticipation, glamour, theatrical intensity, and celebration, the space feeling purpose-built yet temporary, utilitarian yet luxurious, functional yet spectacular, creating threshold environment where everyday movement transforms into choreographed presentation and attendees transition from observers into participants within carefully constructed experiential narrative.
Centrestage is an annual fashion event featured premium fashion shows, parades and seminars events, with attendees able to gain insights of industry trends and cutting edge designs, as well as explore business opportunities. Centrestage Elites, the grand opening fashion show, held the day before the main event opened at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, featuring a Hong Kong born haute couture designer Robert Wun's collections through his stunning Homecoming Show.
