Style Windsor Building Residence

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025

This description presents a double-height interior space designed as a residential reception area or lobby. Beginning with overall orientation, the space rises approximately two stories with warm reddish-brown wood paneling covering the upper walls like aged mahogany or cherry wood, feeling as substantial and smooth as fine furniture. The ceiling at center features a reflective gold-toned panel that mirrors elements below, creating a sense of expanded height. Two elaborate crystal chandeliers hang at different depths, their numerous curved glass arms extending outward like frozen fountains, each supporting tulip-shaped glass shades that would feel cool and smooth to touch. Moving to the left portion, tall industrial-style windows stretch from floor to ceiling, their black metal frames creating a grid pattern through which natural daylight streams in warmth like morning sunshine, casting strong angular shadows across the space. The floor throughout appears as polished stone in warm cream and soft grey tones with checkerboard patterning in one section, the surface would feel cool and glassy underfoot with a slight echo to footsteps. Dominating the center and right foreground, a dramatic counter stretches diagonally through the space, its surface carved from grey marble with flowing dark and light striations like frozen rivers or smoke captured in stone, the edge curves in an organic serpentine shape that invites the hand to trace its smooth cool contour. Upon this counter rest a silver tray holding numerous small water glasses and a spherical amber-tinted glass lamp glowing warmly. Behind the counter, leather-upholstered chairs in silvery grey suggest soft yielding seats. Through an arched opening at center back, natural light reveals a terrace with greenery and sky, the warm outdoor atmosphere contrasting with the cooler interior. A bronze figurine of a human form stands on the counter as sculptural accent. The upper level visible through glass balustrades suggests a mezzanine gallery space, its presence multiplying the spatial layers.

This project offers a visionary approach to communal spaces within a residential property, drawing refined inspiration from the majestic Windsor Castle in the UK. Blending the enduring architectural charm of the Tudor dynasty with modern design sensibilities, the result is a space that exudes both sophistication and warmth.
