Zina Garment Rack

Iron A' Design Award Winner 2025

Seven freestanding metal garment rack structures occupy a sunlit interior space, arranged in a horizontal line that extends from left foreground through middle distance to right background, creating a rhythmic sequence of delicate geometric frameworks against warm olive-green walls and honey-toned wooden plank flooring. Beginning at the left edge, the nearest and smallest rack stands approximately waist-height with a compact rectangular footprint, constructed from square-profile metal tubing in soft ivory powder-coat finish, featuring a single horizontal hanging rail suspended between two vertical posts connected by horizontal stabilizing bars near the floor, with two small terracotta-orange spherical accents visible where vertical posts meet upper rails, while two diminutive potted plants in natural wood containers rest on the floor beside its base, introducing organic green foliage that contrasts with geometric metal lines. Moving rightward and slightly deeper into the space, the second rack rises taller, perhaps shoulder-height, with similar construction vocabulary of ivory metal tubing forming a vertical rectangular frame containing a horizontal hanging rail positioned in the upper third, maintaining the spare aesthetic of exposed structure and open framework. The third configuration, positioned at middle distance, presents greater complexity with multiple internal horizontal elements suggesting both hanging rails and shelf platforms at varying heights within a taller vertical frame, its construction methodology remaining consistent with square metal tubing and clean right-angle joints, while the same terracotta spherical accents punctuate connection points, adding warm orange notes that feel like warm sunset embers against the cool ivory metal that suggests smooth, cool-to-touch surfaces like polished porcelain. Progressing further back, fourth and fifth rack structures continue the theme with additional variations in proportions and internal divisions, some emphasizing vertical hanging space while others incorporate horizontal shelving elements, each maintaining approximately two to three feet width while varying in height from waist to above head level, their open frameworks allowing visual penetration through multiple layers creating transparency and spatial depth rather than solid barriers. The sixth and seventh configurations occupy the deepest background zones, their forms slightly softened by atmospheric distance and positioned where wall color transitions from illuminated cream-yellow warmth to deeper olive shadow tones, completing the rhythmic procession of storage structures across the compositional field. Brilliant natural light floods from the upper right, casting dramatic diagonal shadows that angle downward and leftward across the wall in sharp geometric shapes echoing the rectangular frames of the racks themselves, while similar shadow patterns stripe across the wooden floor in parallel bands suggesting mid-to-late afternoon sun entering through an unseen window, creating warm golden illumination that feels like gentle heat on skin in sun-filled rooms. The olive-sage wall color suggests the muted green of dried herbs or aged olive wood, providing a sophisticated neutral backdrop that feels both contemporary and timeless, while the wood flooring displays linear grain patterns and warm honey-blonde tonality suggesting the smooth texture of finished hardwood, perhaps ash or oak, with subtle sheen catching light. The metal frameworks appear smooth and matte with slight coolness suggesting industrial fabrication precision, while the terracotta accent spheres introduce warmer textural suggestion of ceramic or powder-coated metal with slight surface grain. The overall environment suggests quietness and stillness, an afternoon moment in an unoccupied gallery-like space or showroom where objects rest in careful arrangement awaiting interaction, with implied freshness of daylight and possibility of gentle air movement through the transparent frameworks, and the barely audible sense of urban residential calm where functional objects become subjects of contemplative appreciation for their refined forms and careful proportions.

Since 2024, designers have conducted in depth interviews and research among a large number of clothing organizers to explore different clothing storage needs and the usage scenarios of clothes racks. This has led their innovation team to take practical ingenuity as the starting point and design a series of clothes racks for different needs. Through distinctive IP designs, they bring a touch of brightness to dull home environments and achieve personalized clothing display, bringing a more vibrant feeling to every user.
