Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
Entering this description, listeners will construct a grand elongated interior hall designed for ceremonial dining, approximately three to four times longer than it is wide, viewed from one end looking toward the opposite terminus. The ceiling overhead curves in a continuous vault of warm cream plaster, smooth as eggshell, from which rise sculptural organic forms along both side walls like stylized torches or abstracted flower stems reaching upward, their surfaces the same pale warm tone catching soft golden light that washes across the curved surfaces creating gentle gradations from illuminated cream to shadowed sand. The floor below appears as polished dark stone, cool and reflective like black marble, stretching the full length of the space. Two extremely long rectangular tables run parallel down the center, separated by a walking aisle between them, their surfaces gleaming with the deep warm brown of polished wood or dark lacquer, reflecting the ambient light like still water. Upon these tables at regular intervals rest groupings of pillar candles in pale cream and warm amber tones, some held in ornate silver candelabra with curving arms. Flanking both tables are numerous chairs made of transparent material, their forms suggesting classical ornate chair silhouettes yet rendered in crystal-clear substance that allows the floor and architecture to remain visible through them. The left wall features tall arched openings hung with heavy fabric in deep bronze and gold tones suggesting rich brocade, while the right wall contains built-in shelving with individual compartments each softly illuminated from within, displaying various objects. Geometric wall sconces of frosted white glass and dark metal provide points of warm light along both walls. At the far end, a mezzanine level balcony with dark classical railing overlooks the space, reached by what appears to be entrances below. The atmosphere suggests warm candlelit intimacy combined with architectural grandeur, a space for significant gatherings bathed in honeyed light.
Opened by the romantic door of Italian style, guided by the transition of light, it undergoes the beautiful sedimentation of Chinese style, until it becomes light and soft, and also points to the exploration path from the outside to the inside. Along the path, the eye encounters the resonance of details and beauty. The space is overlaid with multiple styles of beauty, highlighting the quality of their respective shapes and colors, allowing the vitality of the space to continue with every appearance of light.
