Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
This audio description presents a contemporary residential interior designed as a sophisticated living and entertaining space, scanning from background to foreground and left to right, the most distant visible zone reveals a wall of tall narrow panels finished in warm taupe fabric or textured material, arranged in a regular vertical rhythm that extends across the full width of the background, these panels frame several functional elements including built-in cabinetry with horizontal wine bottle storage displaying dark bottles arranged in neat rows, and glass-fronted display cases containing glassware and decorative objects that catch ambient light, the ceiling above this zone is finished in a warm bronze-toned material with a subtle reflective quality, moving forward into the middle ground, a long rectangular table with a pale stone or composite top and dark angular legs serves as a bar or service counter, positioned before the wine storage wall, several tall stools with dark frames are arranged along this counter, the floor throughout is a dark charcoal grey, smooth and uniform, suggesting polished stone or large format tile, its cool darkness providing visual weight and grounding, the primary living zone occupies the foreground and center, defined by a large rectangular area rug in soft sand tones with a subtle darker border, this rug creates a warm island against the dark floor, upon this rug sits a low square coffee table in warm wood tones with what appears to be a natural edge or organic detail on its surface, flanking this table are two sculptural armchairs with dark espresso-toned wooden frames featuring gracefully curved backs and armrests, their seats upholstered in cream or pale grey fabric, to the right a contemporary sofa in light grey fabric with visible dark metal or wood frame elements provides generous seating, overhead an elliptical ceiling recess finished in smooth white plaster creates a soft luminous glow, its edges gently curved and illuminated from within, casting warm diffused light throughout the space, to the far right glimpses of exterior greenery are visible through what appear to be slatted blinds or screens, suggesting connection to landscape beyond
This project, following the design concept of modern east, reinterprets eastern aesthetics with modern design techniques, and integrates the natural beauty of mountains and waters into home design. The cabinet handles feature lines resembling mountain ridges and engraved water patterns, highlighting eastern aesthetics full of magnificent and graceful characteristics; the decorative pillars, also reminiscent of mountain ridges, incorporate traditional mortise and tenon joints, which not only creates an artistic atmosphere, but also reflects the inheritance and innovation of traditional culture.
