Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
Scanning this commercial interior from ceiling to floor, listeners encounter a bright, open workplace lounge bathed in abundant natural light from expansive windows spanning the background. The ceiling presents pale timber planks arranged horizontally, their color resembling bleached driftwood or pale honey, against which floats a remarkable linear lighting element—imagine a continuous glowing white ribbon tracing a shape like an undulating cloud or perhaps a figure-eight laid on its side, suspended several inches below the ceiling surface. This organic form spans approximately two-thirds of the ceiling width and creates soft, even illumination throughout the space. Directly beneath the center of this ceiling gesture hangs a striking conical pendant—picture an inverted bowl shape, warm bronze in tone like aged copper, with horizontal fins radiating outward creating a layered, almost mechanical quality that would feel ridged if touched. Below this pendant sits the focal gathering point: a tall circular table in warm terracotta tones—imagine the color of sunset-warmed clay or reddish earth—supported by a substantial cylindrical pedestal. This table stands at bar height, surrounded by four stools with light oak legs and cream-colored seats that would feel smoothly cushioned. A small potted plant with glossy green leaves occupies the table center. The table rests upon a circular rug matching its terracotta hue, creating a defined zone. Moving rightward along the space stretches a lengthy banquette—a continuous built-in sofa with cream upholstery soft as brushed cotton, featuring distinctive semicircular backrests repeating rhythmically like gentle waves. This seating runs atop a slate blue planter base—cool like evening shadow—from which abundant green plants emerge, their leaves ranging from the large paddle shapes of fiddle leaf figs to smaller trailing varieties. To the left foreground, cream-colored privacy screens with diagonal woven patterns—textured like basket weave—create gentle spatial separation. Through the windows behind, urban buildings appear in soft daylight, suggesting a high-floor location within a commercial district.
