Smart Data x You Exhibition

This immersive exhibition space presents as a large, darkened interior environment dominated by cool blue and cyan tones, with warm amber and golden accents scattered throughout like illuminated data points. Scanning from left to right across the composition, the foreground reveals a glowing architectural model of an urban landscape, its miniature buildings and streets rendered in luminous turquoise that feels cool and crystalline, like ice illuminated from within. This tangible city model rests on a raised platform, approximately one-fifth the composition height, with a single visitor standing before it in contemplative observation. Moving rightward and deeper into the space, the floor transitions from the model platform to a smooth, reflective surface that mirrors the ambient light sources, creating an effect like walking on calm water at twilight. Edge-lighting strips in vivid magenta and cyan trace the boundaries of circulation pathways, their glow feeling electric and slightly warm despite their cool hues. The middle ground features another visitor engaging with an interactive pedestal station that emanates warm amber light, suggesting the warmth of candlelight or sunset against the predominantly cool environment. Behind these figures, the primary visual element commands attention: an enormous projection surface spanning the full width of the space, displaying what appears to be a vast network of interconnected points and flowing lines, predominantly in deep indigo and midnight blue with countless small luminous nodes in amber, gold, and orange scattered across its surface like stars in a night sky or lights viewed from high altitude over a metropolitan region at night. The pattern suggests flowing rivers of data or traffic, with brighter concentrations forming organic pathways across the dark field. Suspended from above, several translucent informational panels hang at varying heights, their text and graphics visible against the darker background. The ceiling reveals exposed industrial infrastructure, aluminum truss systems supporting theatrical lighting instruments that contribute to the complex illumination environment, this overhead zone feels industrial and functional, like the backstage of a theater made visible. The overall atmosphere suggests quiet technological wonder, cool and enveloping, inviting extended contemplation of invisible information systems made beautifully visible.

Smart Data X You, From the origin of data to smart applications. This exhibition in the House of Digitalisation in Tulln, Austria, features an overall didactic concept that guides visitors through the narrative in a comprehensible way. Eight multimedia stations explain how data is created and processed. Design Studio Responsive Spaces was tasked with the creation, design and development of this immersive exhibition. They made the interconnectedness of everybody's digital environment tangible and provided visitors with low-barrier knowledge from the world of smart data utilizing interactivity.
