Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2024
Scanning this interior environment from top to bottom, we encounter an extraordinary ceiling installation dominating the upper two-thirds of the composition. The overhead structure features a central mechanical key in warm golden tones suspended from a circular medallion, from which radiating perforated panels extend outward like the petals of an enormous flower or the wings of a mechanical butterfly. These panels display deep blue structural framing with the rich saturation of twilight sky, contrasting against white surfaces punctured with regular dot patterns that create textured visual rhythm across the expanse. Moving downward to the middle ground, we discover a sculptural winged element positioned above a curved reception counter, this figure presents coral red extensions spreading horizontally like propeller blades or fan segments, graduating through salmon and peach tones toward a central circular form in warm yellow reminiscent of afternoon sunlight. The wings incorporate intricate mechanical detailing suggesting gears, fins, and radiating spokes with the precise quality of clockwork mechanisms. Flanking this central feature, three arched openings extend into deeper space, their surfaces appearing reflective like polished mirrors, multiplying views of additional sculptural elements in similar red and mechanical styling visible within these recessed areas. The reception counter itself presents a curved form with vertical striping alternating between deep blue and white in regular rhythm like piano keys, creating a welcoming barrier at comfortable height for standing visitors. The floor surface appears smooth and pale, incorporating dimensional text that reads as a welcoming message to arriving guests. The overall atmosphere feels simultaneously grand and intimate, theatrical yet welcoming, with diffused lighting creating soft illumination throughout that suggests a space existing outside ordinary time, inviting imagination and play.
Meland Club combines five major themes of Insects, Oceans, Land, Sky, and Jungle, to create a Wondrous Museum of Nature, full of futuristic mechanical aesthetics. Architectural logic, art installations, mechanical technological aesthetics, philosophy, and popular science education are unprecedentedly integrated into an exquisite, complex creative scheme, constructing a comprehensive indoor parent-child theme park encompassing family amusement, art appreciation, aesthetic education, popular science, and creative enlightenment, a fantasy universe transcending yet tangible to reality.
