This description presents a large interior concert hall viewed from an elevated position within the audience seating area, looking toward a performance stage. Beginning with orientation, the space reads as approximately symmetrical, with the stage centered in the middle distance and walls extending outward on both left and right sides. The floor level contains multiple rows of theater seating arranged in gentle curves, the seats appearing in warm tan or camel coloring with darker frames, organized in neat horizontal rows that step downward toward the stage. The stage itself occupies the central middle ground, a raised platform in pale blonde wood with geometric faceted edges creating an angular, multi-sided shape. Behind and around the stage, tall walls rise vertically, clad in warm honey-toned wood panels with visible vertical grain suggesting oak or similar material. These walls feature a striking pattern of glowing white lines forming interconnected angular shapes, like illuminated geometric lattice or abstracted tree branches, the lines creating rhythmic patterns against the warm wood background. The light from these linear elements feels crisp and cool against the warm surrounding surfaces. Above, the ceiling presents a dramatic contrast, finished in deep charcoal or black with a tessellated diamond pattern creating visual texture. Suspended from this dark ceiling, a large angled panel floats above the stage, finished in matching warm wood tones and dotted with small point lights resembling stars. A balcony level curves across the upper portion of the walls, its parapet continuing the wood finish while transparent glass panels suggest safety railings. The overall atmosphere feels simultaneously grand and intimate, the warm wood creating a sense of embrace while the dark ceiling provides protective enclosure, the glowing geometric patterns adding contemporary energy to what might otherwise feel traditional.
The main objective was to achieve an entirely new acoustic standard, tailored specifically for symphony orchestra performances of the highest caliber. The designer adopted a Lego constructor philosophy, wherein, in collaboration with acousticians , he meticulously devised several standard elements such as rhombuses, triangles, and both smooth and ribbed planes. Subsequently, he methodically assembled the interior using these components, adjusting their placement, adding or subtracting as necessary, to achieve a harmonious blend of acoustical excellence and aesthetic appeal.
