Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2024
This description guides listeners through an extraordinary interior space featuring a massive spherical wine storage installation at its center. The overall format presents a symmetrical architectural interior photographed from a frontal position that emphasizes the central sculptural element. Beginning with the central installation, a large egg-shaped or spherical structure dominates the space, constructed from numerous horizontal circular tiers arranged in a graduating stack. The lower portion, comprising roughly fifty percent of the visible sphere, glows with warm illumination suggesting amber honey, aged cognac, or polished copper, this warmth emanating from integrated lighting and the wine bottles themselves. The upper hemisphere transitions through a neutral band into cool silvered tones suggesting brushed aluminum or morning frost, with lighting that feels crisp and contemporary rather than warm. Each tier consists of a circular ring holding wine bottles in horizontal positions, with thin strips of light running along each level, creating the impression of glowing orbital rings or growth rings in some vast technological tree. The structure appears to hover slightly above a highly polished floor that reflects it like still water, doubling its visual presence and creating a sense that the sphere might continue below the surface. The floor itself has a warm cognac or caramel coloration with a mirror-like finish that feels smooth and cool underfoot. Surrounding the central installation on both left and right sides, tall vertical panels contain additional wine storage, these illuminated columns creating rhythmic framing elements with their own warm interior glow. Above the spherical installation, a circular opening in the ceiling creates a crown-like aperture, its recessed lighting providing soft ambient illumination that emphasizes the verticality of the space. The overall atmosphere suggests a temperature-controlled environment, cool and still, with the theatrical lighting creating dramatic contrasts between illuminated elements and darker surrounding zones, the space feels hushed and reverent, like entering a contemporary cathedral dedicated to the appreciation of wine.
