Unbounded Office

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2024

This rectangular photograph presents a contemporary office interior characterized by warm bronze and cool gray metallic tones. Scanning from background to foreground, the distant zone reveals a pale gray corridor with white cabinet doors, illuminated by soft natural daylight filtering through what appears to be a glazed exterior wall visible at upper left. The middle ground features expansive ceiling planes finished in striated wood grain suggesting pale ash or bleached oak, angling diagonally from upper left toward the right side of the frame. These warm-toned ceiling elements feel like smooth sanded timber, creating a sense of natural warmth overhead. The right portion of the composition is dominated by floor-to-ceiling shelving units finished in brushed bronze metal with the cool-warm tone of aged brass or antique copper. These shelves contain carefully arranged sculptural objects: gleaming golden biomorphic forms suggesting polished bronze or brass, smooth white organic shapes resembling river stones or ceramic vessels, and dark obsidian-like pieces with glossy surfaces. Small recessed spotlights cast warm pools of illumination onto these display areas, creating intimate glowing zones within the larger space. The foreground at lower left features a freestanding workstation in soft ivory tones, its smooth surfaces suggesting lacquered wood or composite material, topped with what appears to be a sleek dark device. The flooring throughout presents a muted gray-brown tone with subtle linear texture, feeling like dense carpet or woven material underfoot. The overall atmosphere suggests hushed professionalism, the quiet of a well-appointed private office where materials speak of quality and careful consideration, with ambient temperature feeling temperate and air quality suggesting climate-controlled stillness.

The project, targeting corporate spirit and real-world work requirements, amalgamates diverse functionalities such as office work, reception, meetings, tea tasting, collecting, resting, and fishkeeping. Adopting a Unbounded design concept and utilizing modern materials like mirrors and stainless steel, it aims to achieve an infinite extension and maximal continuity of space. This approach seeks to break away from the constraints of traditional closed offices, creating an open, multi functional working environment.
