Panoramic House

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2024

This architectural photograph presents a contemporary residential building ascending a vegetated hillside, captured during the blue hour transition between day and evening. Scanning from background to foreground, the upper portion of the image reveals a gradient sky shifting from pale blue at the top through soft periwinkle toward the horizon, with a small gibbous moon visible in the upper left, appearing as a luminous pale disk against the cooling atmosphere. Dark silhouettes of mature trees frame the composition on both sides, their foliage creating organic irregular outlines against the sky. The building itself dominates the middle and lower center of the image, presenting a bold angular form that appears to project outward toward the viewer. The upper volume features warm wood cladding in tones suggesting honey, caramel, and amber, with a rich warmth like polished furniture or sun-warmed timber, horizontal bands of windows with bronze-toned frames punctuating this wooden surface in rhythmic sequence. Below this warm wooden volume, the building transitions to stone or composite panel cladding in cool gray tones with subtle cream and taupe variations, textures appearing smooth and refined like polished limestone or fine marble. A transparent glass balustrade at the upper level catches ambient light, creating an ethereal edge where building meets sky. The structure cantilevers dramatically, meaning the upper portion extends outward beyond the support below, creating a sense of bold projection into space. Window openings glow with warm amber light from within, suggesting interior warmth and habitation against the cooling twilight atmosphere. The lower foreground presents lush green vegetation with glossy leaves catching the last ambient light, their surfaces appearing smooth and slightly waxy, deep forest green in color with the freshness of healthy tropical or subtropical plants. The overall atmosphere suggests tranquil evening, the stillness of transition between day and night, with warmth emanating from the dwelling set against the cool enveloping twilight.

Panoramic House was designed for a family in search of a new lifestyle in the seaside. An atmosphere of belonging and identity, a panoramic view of the sea, elements of Brazilianness and an ecofriendly construction were some of the premises of the project. The building was camouflaged, in order to enhance the landscapes, through a contemporary architecture of pure elements and horizontal lines enriched by prominent points. Through parametricism, they carry originality and authenticity.
