Listeners will construct a mental image of a dramatic vertical interior space viewed from above a descending escalator system. Scanning from top to bottom, the uppermost zone features a large spherical form suggesting a moon, its surface textured with crater-like indentations in cool grey tones like weathered stone. This sphere is partially framed by radiating triangular elements in vivid red, warm as glowing embers, pointing inward like ceremonial banners. Moving downward along both left and right edges of the composition, elaborate traditional bracket structures cascade in tiers, rendered in saturated vermillion red with the intensity of lacquered surfaces, these forms step outward and downward in rhythmic progression suggesting ornate wooden architecture. Suspended among these brackets hang rows of cylindrical lantern forms in translucent amber-orange, glowing with warm inner light like sunset through honey, creating vertical chains of luminous accents. The central zone features a ceiling surface in cool teal-green, suggesting the color of oxidized copper or shallow tropical waters, organized in linear panels that recede toward a distant point. This cool surface provides refreshing contrast to the surrounding warmth. At composition center, twin escalators with dark handrails descend toward the viewer, their parallel forms creating strong perspective lines converging in the distance. The overall sensation combines festive warmth from the abundant red and orange elements with crisp coolness from the teal accents, suggesting a space of celebration and aspiration. The scale feels monumental yet inviting, with the traditional architectural references creating a sense of cultural resonance. Light quality varies from soft ambient illumination to focused warm glows, creating atmosphere both dramatic and welcoming.

This project is not just a collection of building, but also a fusion of cultural heritage and innovation. Deeply intertwining traditional culture with modern commercial concepts, the design team has approached the local history and cultural characteristics of Beijing with an innovative mindset, from which the core elements of commercial blocks were extracted to form the themed framework, aiming to make XY Toutiao a new and profound cultural and commercial landmark in Beijing.
