This aerial view positions the observer directly above a remarkable architectural composition where four interconnected white circular structures cluster together near the lower right portion of the frame, each structure crowned with concentric ridges that descend from a central point like the interior patterns of a seashell or the ripples spreading outward from a water droplet's impact, the largest of these circular buildings dominating the grouping with a dramatic circular opening at its top revealing an intricate lattice pattern in white that creates a delicate network of geometric divisions, while three smaller circular volumes arrange themselves around this central form in an organic asymmetrical pattern suggesting natural growth rather than rigid geometric planning, the entire architectural ensemble rendered in pristine white or pale cream that catches the midday sunlight and creates soft shadows in the recessed ribbed sections, giving the structures a sculptural three-dimensional quality despite the flattening effect of the overhead viewpoint. Moving from this architectural focal point toward the left third of the composition, a winding waterway appears in beautiful graduated tones of blue-green, the color suggesting clear shallow water like the jade-green of tropical shallows or the celadon of certain glazed ceramics, cool and refreshing in feeling, the water's edge tracing sinuous organic curves that snake through the landscape in fluid S-curves and gentle arcs, creating a strong visual contrast with the straight lines and hard angles of the roadways that dominate the right side of the frame, the water surface showing subtle variations in color suggesting depth changes or shadow patterns from unseen elements, with darker patches perhaps indicating deeper channels or submerged vegetation. Immediately adjacent to the water's edge, a narrow strip of landscape appears in fresh green tones suggesting grass or low plantings, punctuated at regular intervals by small dark circular shapes indicating trees, their shadows stretching slightly to suggest the sun's position and creating a rhythm of dark accents along the waterway, while pale concrete or stone pathways wind through this green buffer zone, echoing in miniature the larger curves of the water channel itself and creating accessible routes through the landscape that feel organic rather than rigidly geometric. The architectural structures sit on pale concrete or stone plazas or platforms that extend around them, creating hard surfaces in light warm gray that provide functional circulation space and visual breathing room around the sculptural building forms, these paved areas reading as warm in the direct sunlight like sun-heated stone, smooth and solid underfoot if one could walk there. Dominating the right and upper portions of the composition, multiple lanes of roadway stretch in precise parallel bands, the asphalt surface appearing in cool mid-gray with subtle variations suggesting use and weathering, marked with crisp white lane divider stripes that create sharp geometric patterns across the neutral pavement, occasional vehicles visible as small rectangular shapes in various colors providing tiny notes of chromatic variety within the predominantly gray infrastructure, the roadway's surface suggesting the slightly rough texture of asphalt, hard and unyielding, warm from sun exposure. In the upper portion of the frame, an elevated highway or bridge structure spans horizontally, its concrete deck appearing in lighter pale gray catching direct sunlight so it reads as warm and bright, almost luminous compared to the darker roadway below, creating a layered spatial quality as one transportation system crosses above another, while curved ramp structures describe graceful arcs in the upper right, their smooth flowing geometry providing relief from the straight lines of the main roadway corridors, these curving forms suggesting smooth concrete surfaces that would feel cool and solid, their elegant swept curves visible from above as they guide traffic through level changes. The lighting throughout suggests midday or early afternoon with the sun positioned high in the sky, creating relatively short shadows that fall almost directly beneath objects, the light quality even and clear suggesting dry atmospheric conditions with excellent visibility, the illumination casting warm tones on sun-facing surfaces while shadowed areas shift slightly cooler toward blue-gray, particularly in the recessed ribbed sections of the white architectural volumes where shadow creates depth and reveals the three-dimensional complexity of the surface treatment, the overall lighting creating a sense of warmth and clarity as though standing in bright daylight with sunshine on one's face and arms.
Located by the Jialing River, this gymnasium achieves harmony, openness and interaction with nature. The design is carried out from the three core concepts of earthscape, integration and openness. The overall project is conceived as an earthscape, just like a picture scroll in one stroke along the Jialing River. The city and nature are merged together, the architecture and landscape are integrated, a continuous spatial sequence is formed along the waterfront.
