Residence H Residential Space

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2024

This residential interior presents a contemplative space unified by warm earth-toned plaster surfaces, scanning from background to foreground reveals the composition, the ceiling structure features exposed beams running horizontally across the space creating parallel ridges and valleys all rendered in the same warm dusty rose plaster as the walls suggesting terracotta or sun-baked earth, at the rear left corner floor-to-ceiling glass doors with white frames provide views to an exterior garden where soft green foliage and hints of magenta flowering plants are visible in gentle natural daylight, moving to the right side of the composition built-in shelving carved directly into the plaster wall displays four horizontal shelves containing various collected objects including decorative ceramic vessels in cream and rust tones, small sculptural figures, stacked books with visible spines, and artistic objects arranged with asymmetrical balance, the plaster surfaces throughout have a matte finish with subtle textural variation suggesting the slight granularity of lime wash or microcement, cool and smooth to imagined touch yet visually warm like sun-warmed clay, dominating the left foreground a bronze sculpture approximately two feet tall depicts a seated figure in profound contemplation, the body curved forward with chin resting upon one hand elbow braced on knee, the bronze surface appears deeply patinated with cool dark brown tones contrasting against the surrounding warmth, this figure rests upon a geometric pedestal of polished black material perhaps stone or lacquered wood approximately eighteen inches cubic, providing stark angular counterpoint to organic sculptural forms, a single black cylindrical pendant light descends from the ceiling at left adding minimal contemporary accent, the overall light quality is soft and diffused entering primarily from the glazed doors creating gentle shadows that emphasize the plaster's surface texture, the atmosphere suggests quiet sanctuary, a space for reflection surrounded by meaningful objects and artistic presence.

From the exterior renovation to the spacious double entrance design, and from converting the leaky water tower into an open-air courtyard creating a display space by the staircase with ceiling extending to the sunlight-filled large windows. The overall interior palette is composed of earthy tones, reflecting the lush and natural surroundings. The abundance of windows extending to the outdoor patios also represents the fusion of vitality and creativity, bringing more possibilities to the house.
