Kaizen Campus Office Building

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2024

This aerial photograph presents a large contemporary office building with a distinctive spiral form, captured at twilight when interior lights create warm amber glows against a cool blue-gray evening sky. The building coils inward like a shell, with the outer edge appearing in the foreground and the form spiraling toward a central courtyard space. The structure is predominantly white with clean surfaces punctuated by continuous bands of windows across multiple floors, creating horizontal lines that follow the curving perimeter. Vertical fin-like elements project from the facade at regular intervals, adding rhythmic texture and visual interest along the building's length. Scanning from foreground to background, the immediate area shows landscaped grounds with terraced levels, young trees, and parking areas containing scattered vehicles. Lines of warm golden pathway lights trace curves that echo the building's spiral geometry, creating welcoming illuminated trails across the grounds. Moving outward, the surrounding urban neighborhood extends across the middle ground, consisting of numerous residential apartment buildings and houses in earth tones ranging from warm ochre to soft terracotta and cream white. These structures are predominantly rectilinear, providing visual contrast to the flowing curves of the central building. Trees and vegetation appear throughout this urban fabric, their forms softened in the diminishing twilight. In the far background, a mountain ridge rises against the sky, its slopes carrying the pattern of urban development upward, with building lights beginning to twinkle as evening deepens. The overall atmosphere conveys transition between day and night, warmth within coolness, and organic flow within ordered urban context, inviting contemplation of spaces designed for human collaboration and creativity.

The main focus points of the design of Kaizen Campus are aesthetics, environmental impact and user experience. The building has been designed to be a landmark but also functional and user friendly. All interior spaces benefit from natural light and air flow and all three floors are interconnected either from the interior or with exterior ramps. The facade design provides shading and filters the noise while accentuating the elliptical shape and multi-directionality of the building via the repetition of vertical louvers that follow its organic geometry.
