Scanning this interior space from background to foreground, listeners encounter a predominantly white architectural environment characterized by flowing, sculptural ceiling forms. Beginning at the back of the space, two elegant pointed arch openings pierce the wall, their forms reminiscent of cathedral windows rendered in soft, creamy white. These openings appear as passages leading to illuminated spaces beyond. Moving forward into the middle ground, a dining arrangement comes into view: a table with a warm-toned marble surface featuring subtle gray veining rests on a white pedestal base. Two distinctive chairs flank this table, their forms resembling gentle S-curves or flowing ribbons frozen in motion, upholstered in soft ivory tones that feel plush and inviting. The dominant visual element commands the upper portion of the composition: a magnificent undulating ceiling feature that sweeps from the upper left corner, curving gracefully like a breaking wave or a ribbon caught in gentle wind. This sculptural element descends and flows across the ceiling, its surfaces smooth as polished porcelain, illuminated from within by concealed light sources that create a soft, warm glow reminiscent of diffused daylight. The light temperature feels balanced between cool and warm, creating an atmosphere of serene clarity. The walls throughout appear smooth as fine plaster, cool to imagined touch, with surfaces that absorb sound and create hushed tranquility. To the right, a circular opening in the ceiling suggests a skylight or oculus, introducing geometric counterpoint to the dominant curves. The floor extends in pristine white, likely polished stone or composite material that would feel smooth and cool underfoot. The overall atmosphere suggests stillness and calm, like entering a cloud or a space designed for meditation, with soft ambient light eliminating harsh shadows and creating an environment that feels both intimate and expansive.
The client is a young and very individualistic couple who desires a unique home that can serve as both a residence and a venue for hosting parties with friends. This design extracts inspiration from water droplets. Imagining each water droplet as a distinct space, the various sizes and shapes of the droplets are combined to create a highly distinctive, dynamic, and aesthetically pleasing interior space. Divide the space with water droplets, and break through the rigid space boundary. Break the circle into curves and recombine them to form different structural patterns.
