1821 Vintage Bolgrad Sparkling Wine

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2023

Scanning diagonally from lower left to upper right, four wine bottles arrange themselves against a background of deep charcoal gray, like slate or storm clouds at dusk. The bottles tilt at matching angles, creating a rhythmic pattern reminiscent of steps ascending. Beginning at the lower left, a bottle glows with warm rose-coral tones, the color of summer peaches or copper catching sunset light. Its label features soft lavender-purple accents against cream, with bold dark numerals prominently displayed. Moving upward and rightward, a darker bottle presents deep amber-burgundy liquid, rich as aged mahogany or autumn honey, with an orange-tangerine accent bar on its label creating warm contrast. The third bottle, oriented with its base toward upper right, displays golden-amber contents suggesting champagne or pale honey, with the same orange accent visible against cream labeling. At the far right edge, partially visible, another rose-gold bottle completes the arrangement. Each bottle wears a golden cap covering, textured like crinkled foil paper, warm and metallic to the touch. The labels share consistent elements across all bottles, with large bold numerals representing the year of establishment taking prominence, accompanied by elegant flowing script text below. The glass surfaces catch light beautifully, creating bright curved reflections like ribbons of white silk draped across rounded forms. Where bottles overlap, shadows gather in narrow wedges. The liquid within each bottle glows from within, translucent and luminous. The overall atmosphere suggests quiet celebration, the moment before a toast, refined and anticipatory.

The Bolgrad brand embodies the essence of the southern regions of the Ukrainian coast: light atmosphere, great climate and good winemaking. The year 1821, which is indicated on the label and is its centerpiece, is the year the city of Bolgrad, located in the Odessa region in the south of the country, was founded. Bolgrad is the first Ukrainian producer who decided to bring to the market a sparkling wine in a lower and wider bottle, which is more typical of western producers. The design of this product reflects progressiveness, high status and adherence to European traditions of winemaking.
