TIC Art Exhibition Center

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2023

This aerial photograph presents a contemporary exhibition center complex viewed from an elevated position looking slightly downward and toward the horizon. The image is horizontal in format, approximately square in proportion, bathed in warm golden afternoon light that casts long shadows across the scene. Beginning in the foreground and occupying roughly the lower two-thirds of the frame, a large circular water feature commands attention, its surface appearing as a smooth disc of amber-tinted reflection roughly fifteen meters in diameter. Surrounding this pool, concentric rings of stepped brick terracing in warm terracotta tones descend toward the water like a contemporary amphitheater, each step perhaps forty centimeters high, creating seating or gathering space. The groundplane surrounding this circular element consists of dark gray gravel or fine aggregate, textured like coarse sand, punctuated by young trees supported by bamboo stakes, their canopies ranging from bright spring green to deep olive to golden autumn yellow. Moving toward the background, the primary building rises as a massive rectangular volume, its façade wrapped in an intricate screen of triangular perforations rendered in oxidized copper and terracotta tones, warm as autumn leaves or aged leather. The letters forming the center's name appear integrated into this lattice, reading as slightly lighter tones within the pattern. The screen creates a sense of depth and texture like woven fabric or lace held before warm light. At the building's base, a large arched opening creates a threshold, its curved form suggesting a welcoming gesture. The distant horizon reveals an urban landscape of buildings and construction cranes against a pale sky shifting from warm cream near the horizon to soft blue above.

Tic Art Center is a public urban landmark project.
