Royal Tulip Warsaw Apartments Aparthotel

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2023

This interior photograph presents a contemporary hotel bar space viewed from the lounge seating area, formatted in square composition with rich detail throughout. Beginning with orientation, the space extends from the viewer's position in the foreground toward an illuminated bar approximately fifteen feet distant, with the overall atmosphere suggesting sophisticated evening hospitality. The ceiling, visible across the upper portion, consists of raw concrete painted in deep charcoal gray, with exposed industrial ductwork and mechanical systems creating textural complexity overhead, the surface appearing rough like weathered stone. Suspended from this ceiling, a geometric grid of metal framework supports approximately twenty opalescent globe light fixtures, their surfaces glowing with warm milky luminosity like captured moonlight, creating the primary illumination source. The central architectural feature dominates the middle ground, a curved portal painted in deep navy blue, the color of a clear midnight sky, framing the back bar where rows of bottles catch and reflect ambient light in amber, gold, and crystalline tones. This arch rises from counter level to ceiling, its smooth painted surface contrasting with the industrial treatment above. In front of the bar, vertical brass-toned metal balusters create a rhythmic screen, their warm golden color suggesting polished antique brass, catching light along their lengths. The flooring throughout consists of polished hardwood in rich cognac brown, warm as honey, reflecting overhead illumination in subtle gleams. To the left foreground, bar stools with cream and taupe upholstery featuring subtle geometric patterns offer seating, their brass legs echoing the baluster tones. To the right, similar stools in coordinating fabrics face the bar. The far right wall features an artistic installation of warm white neon tubing arranged in flowing serpentine curves against a deliberately weathered surface suggesting aged plaster in muted pink and gray tones. Small spherical table lamps emit intimate warm amber glows throughout the seating areas. The overall atmosphere conveys sophisticated warmth and invitation.

Royal Tulip Warsaw is a modern aparthotel that creates a new category in hospitality: a hybrid of a luxury hotel, home, and office. The rich history of the place, as well as of Warsaw itself, became an inspiration for designers. Inspired by the great district plan of the capital from the 1920s, they alluded to its shape and the arrangement of its districts. In the whole building can be found analogies to parts of the city such as Wola, Srodmiescie, or Zoliborz.
