Entering this contemporary reception space, your attention moves first to the suspended horizontal element dominating the upper portion of the view, a linear lighting and planter system approximately six feet in length, positioned roughly eight feet above the floor and occupying the left-center area of the composition. The fixture combines industrial and organic elements: cylindrical metal components in brushed silver or steel tones house linear light tubes that emit a warm amber glow, approximately the color of late afternoon sunlight or warm candlelight, while attached planter boxes cradle trailing green plants whose delicate foliage cascades downward like living curtains, the leaves a fresh spring green suggesting new growth or shade-loving varieties such as pothos or trailing philodendron, their irregular organic forms creating soft movement against the geometric architecture. Below and slightly right of center, a substantial reception desk commands the foreground, its angular form constructed from two distinct material expressions: the front face appears in pale beige or cream, smooth and matte like polished limestone or high-grade laminate, while the visible side panel transitions to warmer taupe and deeper brown tones suggesting wood veneer or wood-grain laminate, the materials meeting at clean angles that emphasize contemporary craftsmanship. The background wall system extends across the middle ground in charcoal gray, a color cool as winter slate or graphite, its surface reading as matte and smooth, likely painted or laminated cabinetry with minimal visible hardware maintaining clean visual lines. A rectangular niche interrupts the gray expanse slightly left of center, recessed approximately six inches and finished in the same pale beige as the desk front, creating spatial depth and providing display area currently containing small decorative yellow objects and potted greenery. To the right, the wall system continues in darker gray tones before terminating at a perpendicular panel and doorway. Above, the ceiling comprises modular panels in pale gray or off-white, cool as overcast sky, their rectilinear divisions creating subtle grid patterns that recede visually, allowing focus to remain on the inhabited zones below. The floor consists of warm wood planks in honey or amber tones, smooth as finished hardwood, their parallel grain running diagonally from lower left toward right, introducing warmth underfoot that balances the cooler tones of walls and ceiling. Ambient lighting fills the space evenly without harsh shadows, suggesting additional concealed light sources beyond the featured fixture, creating an atmosphere calm as early morning in a well-designed office, professional yet welcoming, where natural elements soften architectural precision and warm illumination tempers the coolness of gray surfaces, the entire environment suggesting careful attention to human comfort within functional professional contexts.
Ultra Mariner is a story of design efficiency, the growth of a family. Evolving from a linear suspended light fixture into a family of light fixtures and planters that inhabit with ease the walls and ceilings of a variety of spaces that extend from the commercial and public spaces through office and co-working spaces up to residential spaces. Family members consist of a pendant/wall linear light fixture, linear planter, modular lighting, and planter suspended/wall systems.
