Silver A' Design Award Winner 2023

Scanning from the back of the composition toward the front, listeners encounter a vast industrial warehouse space with a high barrel-vaulted ceiling of corrugated metal supported by triangular steel trusses painted in muted gray tones. The atmosphere feels cool and expansive, like standing inside a large covered market or converted factory. Suspended throughout this space are translucent fabric canopies in soft cerulean blue, the color of a clear morning sky, stretched across rectangular metal frames that stand approximately the height of a tall doorway. These frames are constructed from slender silver-toned metal tubes, their surfaces smooth and cool to the touch like brushed aluminum. The blue fabric panels drape between frame tops with gentle organic curves, creating an effect of captured clouds floating beneath the industrial ceiling. At center left, a person wearing dark clothing stands examining objects arranged on a white display table, their posture suggesting focused attention. The tables have clean geometric forms with white surfaces that might feel smooth and slightly cool like laminated wood. To the right foreground, another visitor bends forward examining displayed materials, their dark attire contrasting with the surrounding lightness. The concrete floor spreads smooth and gray like weathered stone, cool underfoot. Along the right edge, a dramatic cascade of fabric in warm sunset tones—orange transitioning to yellow—provides striking contrast to the prevalent blues, suggesting warmth like afternoon light filtering through autumn leaves. Natural light filters through clerestory windows creating soft, even illumination without harsh shadows, while small spotlights mounted on the metal frames add focused pools of warmer light onto display surfaces. The overall sensation combines industrial spaciousness with textile softness, creating a contemplative atmosphere of exploration and discovery.

A sustainable future is not a hypothesis, but a choice, which is jointly participated by everyone. In this journey, human beings are both producers and consumers. Therefore, the definition of the sustainable life style is up to the society. The trajectory of the future also defines the destination of this transformational journey. In the Taiwan Design Expo 2022, this circular pavilion itself is the future transformation through design thinking, material selection and modularization of exhibition components. The waste that may be generated during exhibition assembly is minimized.
