Golden A' Design Award Winner 2023
This elevated landscape photograph presents an expansive view of a contemporary environmental campus, scanning from foreground lawn areas through a richly planted middle zone toward dramatic mountain peaks in the far distance. Beginning in the lower portion, smooth grass terraces in fresh spring green extend across gently undulating terrain, bordered by a sinuous dark gray pathway marked with white dashed lines that curves gracefully rightward then sweeps left toward the composition's center. To the left foreground stands a distinctive cylindrical structure approximately two stories tall, wrapped entirely in woven bamboo or rattan material the warm golden-brown color of honey or toasted wheat, creating a basket-like texture that would feel rough and fibrous to the touch. Moving into the middle ground, the landscape becomes richly layered with deciduous trees showing new spring leaves in varied greens from pale lime to deep forest tones, their trunks supported by wooden stakes suggesting recent planting. Rounded hedgerow masses resembling soft green pillows create topographic variety, while pale gray river stones form naturalistic drainage channels winding through the plantings. At the compositional center, commanding attention through its brilliant warm yellow color like sunlight or golden grain, rises a pyramidal pavilion structure with what appears to be mesh or screen walls allowing transparency. Flanking the landscape on both sides stand substantial white industrial buildings with horizontal bands of orange accent color, their cool neutral tones receding visually. The distant background presents a magnificent mountain range in graduated blue-gray tones suggesting humid atmospheric conditions, their peaks rising against a pale sky with scattered clouds.
The splendid garden is located on former farmland in a pristine valley in the mountains, north of Longyan City in China. Natural springs and the overflow of the mountain reservoir flow through the center of the mega industrial campus. The customer Longking specializes in industrial environmental protection equipment and research. To create this romantic and colorful landscaping the team used environmental technologies developed in-house. The landscape is a new form of recreation and serves as a showcase for people to better understand the underlying natural processes upon which are depended.
