Golden A' Design Award Winner 2023

This audio description presents a dramatic restaurant interior viewed from a symmetrical frontal perspective. Scanning from foreground to background along the central axis: the immediate foreground reveals dining table edges at left and right, their dark surfaces dressed with white circular plates and tall stemmed glasses catching ambient light, positioned symmetrically flanking a central corridor. The floor surface appears highly polished, reflecting elements above like dark water, its color shifting between deep navy and near-black. Dominating the center of the composition, a monumental sculptural installation rises from floor toward ceiling, composed of stacked rounded vessel forms. The lowest element suggests a broad bowl shape glowing with warm amber light like molten honey. Above this, a larger rounded form with hammered or textured surface radiates crimson and orange luminosity, warm as embers. Crowning the composition, a bell-shaped dome with relief patterning appears in deep red, its texture suggesting traditional craft techniques. This entire sculptural assemblage glows from within, creating warm pools of amber and vermillion light that contrast dramatically with the surrounding environment. The walls flanking this central installation are bathed in deep ultramarine blue light, cool as twilight or deep ocean, creating an enveloping atmospheric wash. The ceiling above appears mirrored, reflecting the sculptural installation and creating the sensation of infinite vertical extension. Through an opening behind the central sculpture, additional dining spaces are visible, warmly illuminated in golden tones suggesting intimate alcoves beyond. Additional tables with place settings are visible in the middle ground, their silhouettes dark against the warm background glow. The overall atmosphere suggests ceremonial grandeur, the cool blue creating contemplative distance while warm central illumination beckons toward communal gathering. The sensation evoked is one of entering a ritualized space where dining becomes reverent celebration.

Lang is a leisure social art museum where customers can eat during the day and drink wine at night. The restaurant looks like a black magic box. It uses the names and colors of tequila sunrise, black cherry, blue margarita, and sunset martini as the theme of each area, each space has a different character, and there is a collision between Eastern and Western cultures and aesthetics. It integrates Chinese Sichuan opera and panda characteristics into the design, colliding with western materials and oriental elements.
