TCLGreen Sustainable Art Installation

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2023

Scanning from background to foreground, this sustainable art installation occupies a dramatic alpine meadow setting. The distant background presents a towering mountain formation, its limestone faces appearing rough and weathered like ancient stone walls, colored in pale cream and warm tan tones suggesting sun-bleached bone or aged parchment. The mountain rises sharply against a clear sky colored in gradations from deep cerulean blue overhead to paler powder blue near the horizon, with a partially illuminated moon visible in the upper right, cool and silvery like polished pewter. Brilliant sunlight streams from the upper left, creating warm golden rays and scattered rainbow-hued lens artifacts that feel like warmth spreading across skin. The middle ground contains the primary installation: approximately forty to fifty tall, slender vertical sculptures arranged in loose groupings across green and golden grassland. These blade-like forms stand perhaps twelve to fifteen feet tall, their surfaces showing beautiful blue-green patina reminiscent of aged copper, cool and metallic to imagined touch. Among the sculptures, a human figure in light clothing stands observing, establishing intimate human scale. A cream-colored cow walks peacefully through the scene, its presence suggesting pastoral tranquility. The foreground presents a calm body of water, its surface smooth as polished glass, creating perfect mirror reflections of the entire scene above. The reflected image doubles the sculptural installation, the mountains, and the expansive sky, creating a sense of infinite depth extending downward. The overall atmosphere feels fresh and crystalline, suggesting high altitude air that carries cool mountain breezes and the subtle fragrance of alpine grasses warming in morning sun.

TCLGreen is a modular Grass inspired Art installation and can be adapted to any location. Recycled from over 3000 discarded computer circuit boards and illuminated at night entirely by the power of the sun. With a special bioluminescent coating that glows in the dark by absorbing both natural and artificial photons, it illuminates even without electricity. An included Artificial Intelligence system is embedded into the totems where the installation can "talk" to anyone organically. A special Metaverse Immersion is included once VR/AR goggles are worn.
