Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2023
Approaching from the entrance perspective, your eye immediately encounters a large sculptural installation dominating the central foreground of this spacious interior environment, measuring approximately two meters in height, the primary element consists of an enormous vessel or bowl form with a gently rounded body that swells outward at its widest point before tapering downward toward the base and flaring slightly at the upper rim, this monumental container is finished in warm metallic tones suggesting burnished gold or brass with a lustrous surface quality that catches light along its curved surfaces creating bright highlights on the convex areas while deeper golden bronze tones settle into the shadowed concave transitions, the vessel appears smooth to the touch with a polished finish cool like metal but warmed by its golden color temperature, emerging from the vessel's opening is a dramatic organic element resembling a fountain or bouquet of illuminated flowers, approximately forty to sixty slender stems in dark bronze or copper tones arc upward and outward from a central point before curving gracefully back toward the center creating a cascading fountain-like silhouette, each stem terminates in a glowing blossom or light element in warm amber tones like honey or golden sunlight, these individual lights resemble elongated trumpet flowers or calla lily shapes, each perhaps ten to fifteen centimeters in length, and they create a constellation of warm luminous points throughout the upper portion of the installation suggesting both natural botanical beauty and artistic illumination, the architectural context surrounding this centerpiece consists of sweeping curved ceiling forms in pale neutral tones approaching cream or warm gray with a slightly textured matte surface like aged plaster or concrete that would feel cool and slightly rough to the touch, these ceiling planes curve and flow in organic waves that seem to embrace and frame the central vessel below creating visual harmony between container and canopy, directly above the installation a circular opening penetrates the ceiling revealing darker recessed space beyond and establishing a strong vertical alignment between floor, vessel, ceiling aperture, and whatever lies above, the floor consists of polished stone in warm beige or travertine tones with a smooth glossy surface that reflects both the golden vessel and the glowing amber lights creating pools of warm light across the ground plane, flanking the central composition are tall cylindrical columns or pilasters in muted bronze or copper finish with darker tones than the vessel, these vertical elements punctuate the space rhythmically along the sides, lighting within the space comes from multiple sources creating layered illumination, the amber florals provide intimate warm glowing points throughout the upper installation, concealed lighting grazes the curved ceiling surfaces from below emphasizing their three-dimensional sculptural quality and creating dramatic contrast between illuminated surfaces and deep shadows in the recessed areas, general ambient lighting maintains overall visibility throughout the space, and the polished floor and metallic surfaces bounce light around creating an overall atmosphere of warm luminous embrace, the color palette emphasizes golden yellows, warm bronzes and coppers, cream and gray neutrals, and rich brown shadows creating harmonious warmth throughout like late afternoon sunlight or candlelight glow, moving from foreground to background your attention begins with the large golden vessel at center, travels upward through the illuminated floral cascade, continues to the embracing curved ceiling forms, notes the circular aperture above, scans across the polished reflective floor, and registers the flanking bronze columns establishing the perimeter, the overall impression is one of elegant ceremonial space combining monumental scale with intimate warmth through the delicate glowing flowers, suggesting a welcoming threshold or signature moment within a larger building where visitors pause and orient themselves within an environment that balances architectural presence with poetic sensibility.
Designers hope that the interior design of the project can be integrated with the urban character of Kunming, so think of the sales department as a floating future island, with a sea of dreamy flowers, forming a huge, dreamy organism. The interior modeling is full of enlarged flower elements, shaping many different blooming petals with curved surface shapes. The difficult part of the construction process is the curved surface modeling technology in the space and full of tension, as well as the connection accuracy and picture unity between each shape and furniture.
