Magpie Table Lamp

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2022

This sculptural table lamp presents a bird-like form rendered in warm golden metallic finish against a deep black background, scanning from the base upward reveals a cylindrical column approximately one-third the total height finished in champagne gold with subtle satin sheen suggesting brushed metal cool and smooth to the touch, this vertical element rises from an unseen surface and features a small circular control button on its front face, from the top of this cylinder emerges the abstracted bird form extending horizontally toward the right in a continuous sweeping curve, the body of the bird glows from within casting warm light like afternoon sunshine in honey tones approximately the color of amber or pale chamomile tea, this illumination emanates from the concave underside creating a soft pool of functional light directed downward while also revealing the sculptural form through backlighting, the bird silhouette captures the essence of a long-tailed species with elegant tapering toward what suggests a tail extending to the far right while the opposite end curves gently upward into a simplified head form, overall proportions suggest the lamp stands perhaps twelve to fifteen inches tall with horizontal extension of similar length, to the lower left sits a small stack of publications with white and gray tones providing scale reference, behind the lamp toward the right a warm copper-toned rectangular panel leans at slight angle adding depth and chromatic warmth to the composition, the surrounding environment recedes into velvety darkness creating intimate nocturnal atmosphere, surface throughout appears impeccably smooth with gentle transitions between lighter and shadowed areas, the overall impression combines organic naturalism with refined contemporary craftsmanship, warmth with sophistication, functional lighting with sculptural presence

The table lamp has three forms. The first form is the folded magpie homing, the light source is small and mild, does not hurt the eyes, and is also the most space-saving form. It is suitable for small night lights at the head of the bed in the bedroom. The second form is a vertical head stop as if looking around to take off, which can illuminate a larger area of space and is suitable for office space; The third form is the take-off spread wings and fly high, which is high and energetic.
