Tarentum Caffe Bar

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2022

This interior photograph presents a refined café or bar space characterized by warm cream and ivory tones throughout, with the composition organized across distinct spatial zones. Beginning at the upper portion, the ceiling features a cluster of five to six large white spherical pendant lights of varying sizes, their forms smooth and luminous like oversized pearls suspended in space, creating soft diffused illumination throughout. Moving to the left side, a wall treatment of vertical fluted panels in pale taupe extends from floor to ceiling, their surface suggesting the cool smooth texture of pressed clay or matte-finished plaster, with gentle shadows creating subtle linear rhythm. A decorative wall sconce featuring an oval frame with geometric black accent sits mounted on this paneled surface. The central background wall, painted in warm cream like heavy whipped butter, displays elegant typographic signage spelling the establishment name in sophisticated serif letterforms, accompanied by several lines of text in a European language creating visual texture. A small white display cabinet or credenza sits against this wall, bearing decorative objects. The right portion of the space erupts with abundant tropical vegetation—tall fan palms with radiating fronds like spread fingers, broad monstera leaves, and layered greenery creating a lush indoor garden atmosphere suggesting humid tropical warmth and the fresh scent of living plants. In the foreground, intimate seating arrangements feature circular natural wood tabletops on dark sculptural pedestal bases, paired with curved upholstered chairs in cool slate gray resembling soft worn river stones. The floor appears to be large-format tiles in pale neutral tones. The overall atmosphere suggests peaceful Mediterranean morning light, warm and embracing.

Tarentum is a place designed in Ancient Greek style with Greek food and whisky lounge. When night falls, it transforms into a whisky bar, where people can have a drink in a comfortable and private atmosphere. The facade of the interior space of the building is warm ivory-colored cement. The design is represented with gentle cream tones to make people feel relaxed. Gray leather sofas and blue satin cushions echo the blue tone of the windows, as if a touch of blue on the Mediterranean Sea. Gray-blue marble textured tables and blue velvet cotton seats give a special touch of delicate detail.
