Golden A' Design Award Winner 2021

Two square boxes rest upon a cool teal surface that extends to fill the entire background, creating a unified color environment. Scanning from upper left to lower right, the composition presents the boxes arranged diagonally, with the upper box tilted at an angle and partially overlapping its companion beneath. The dominant color throughout suggests weathered copper or aged sea glass, a sophisticated blue-green that feels cool and contemplative, like shallow water over sandy bottom or lichen growing on stone. Each box face displays intricate line drawings depicting vintage steam locomotive machinery, rendered in a slightly darker shade of the same teal family, creating subtle but discernible contrast. The illustrations show remarkable detail: circular wheels with spokes radiating from central hubs, cylindrical boiler sections, pressure gauges, connecting rods, and various mechanical components arranged to suggest the side view of a railway engine. Golden text runs vertically along the left edge of the visible box face, its warm metallic quality providing striking temperature contrast against the cool ground, the letters catching light to appear luminous and precious. Additional golden text curves along the lower right corner of the box. The surface texture appears matte and slightly fibrous, like quality drawing paper or uncoated cardstock, suggesting a tactile experience that would feel substantial and slightly textured beneath fingertips. Strong directional light enters from the upper left, casting deep shadows that extend dramatically toward the lower right, these shadows appearing several shades darker than the illuminated surfaces, creating pronounced three-dimensional presence. The overall atmosphere feels calm, considered, and quietly luxurious, suggesting careful craftsmanship and heritage appreciation.

A collaborative chocolate between a locomotive with more than 130 years of history and an up-and-coming, well acclaimed chocolatier. The trains are drawn with respect for railroad fans and its history, based on photographs of the actual trains taken by the designers themselves. The chocolate has a playful design to it that expresses the route on which the train runs as a maze. The deep green symbolizes the trade color of the train and the color of matcha chocolate. By consuming it while enjoying the maze, they can visit the route and background of the areas and cultures where the train runs.
