Kanglaibo Resort Hotel

Scanning from ceiling to floor, the composition begins with a white architectural ceiling from which descends a massive three-dimensional light sculpture composed of what appears to be thousands of small LED points arranged in a precise geometric grid forming an inverted pyramid or tent-like shape that extends downward toward the lobby floor. The light points glow with a cool white brilliance suggesting fresh winter starlight, creating an effect of luminous rainfall frozen in space. The installation occupies approximately the upper half of the image, its regular pattern creating mesmerizing visual depth as the eye follows the receding lines toward a central vertical axis. Below and around this dramatic ceiling element, the lobby space unfolds. Tall vertical columns clad in rich warm brown wood, suggesting polished walnut, rise on either side, framing the central space. The floor presents a polished surface in warm honey and cream tones, likely natural stone, with black geometric inlay patterns creating diamond shapes and directional lines that guide movement through the space. In the middle ground, a seating arrangement provides human scale, featuring four armchairs upholstered in deep navy blue, a color cool like twilight, accompanied by accent cushions in warm coral orange. A low dark table centers this grouping. Beyond the seating, the far wall displays illuminated shelving containing decorative objects, books, and vessels, creating a sense of curated domesticity. The overall atmosphere feels simultaneously grand and welcoming, the cool overhead light balanced by warm material tones below.

It is a design case for a resort hotel with an indoor area of 16,000 square meters and 19 floors. The hotel is in the Baianshan National Forest Park of Jiangxi Province. The designer creates ethnic-cultural characteristics that given the hotel a unique personality. Moreover, the designer designed a water-saving system for the hotel’s hot-spring bath in the air and each guest room. The system guarantees the user experience of tourists and effectively saves the natural hot-spring resources.
